Fire Over Tokyo
Book VII of The Dragon Wars Saga
The final fire falls over a dying empire.
Synopsis
The liberation of the Philippines has broken Japan’s strategic backbone. Their fleets lie at the bottom of the Pacific. Their Ryūjin dragon corps is a shadow of its former power. But the empire still holds its home islands — and they will defend them with everything they have left.
Charlie Harrison and Thalassa join the largest Allied force ever assembled. American B‑29s, Australian and Canadian dragon units, Filipino resistance riders, and the remnants of the British Far East Command converge on Japan. Their mission: force a surrender and end the war.
But Japan is not defeated. Not yet.
The Ryūjin unleash their final, most desperate creations: Ember Seraphs, dragons bred for suicidal firestorms, and Obsidian Wyrms, armored beasts capable of diving through anti‑aircraft fire. The skies over Japan become a hellscape of smoke, flame, and falling wings.
Charlie witnesses destruction on a scale he never imagined. Cities burn in firestorms that blot out the sun. Dragons collapse from exhaustion mid‑flight. Every mission feels like the last. The moral weight of the campaign presses on him — victory is close, but at what cost?
As the Allies push closer to Tokyo, the Ryūjin make their final stand. The battle for the capital becomes a clash of mythic proportions: Ember Seraphs igniting the skyline, Thunder Drakes diving through burning clouds, Sea Serpents striking at coastal fortifications, and Thalassa facing her greatest challenge yet.
In the end, the war ends not with triumph, but with exhaustion, grief, and the quiet relief of survival. The Dragon Wars are over. The world is forever changed. And Charlie must face the question he has avoided since Europe:
What does a dragon rider do when the war is finally done?
